It’s time to send your ‘Digital Christmas Card’
E-cards have been around since e-mail began. Whilst you may think it’s gimmicky, or even a lazy postal alternative, there is a real benefit to sending to your clients/customers a Christmas card by email.
Below are a few of the reasons why and some helpful tips on creating one.
It’s a great excuse to use your mailing list
A solid e-mail marketing strategy is one that intersperses sales messaging with insightful content. It’s easy to ping out targeted messaging in comparison to the time-consuming process it takes to write and create engaging content.
A Christmas card email is one of the easiest excuses to get in touch with your list. It’s relevant to everyone on it and is a perfect reason to gently remind them that you exist. Not using it, is simply a wasted opportunity to get your brand under their nose.
It doesn’t have to be complicated
Your digital Christmas card doesn’t have to be all singing, all dancing, with animations and flashing lights. It can be as simple as a Christmas image with some text below.
You could go a little bit further and superimpose your logo and a Christmas message in your company/organisation font over the top of a nice wintery scene. (As discussed in previous posts, there are plenty of free stock image websites.)
If you have a CRM system great, upload it and ping it out, it’s always nice to also include a couple of Christmas emoji’s in the subject line.
If you don’t have a CRM; simply make it a square shape image, copy and paste it into your email browser and send it out to your contact list. (Think of it as some fun digital Christmas arts and crafts).
Start 2021 as you mean to go on
2020 has been a truly digital year. Customers and clients expectations have been fundamentally changed as digital interactions have replaced physical ones. A solid email marketing strategy is now a must have for any business or organisation.
If you have a plan already great; but if not, why not start with a Christmas/New Year email and get your contact base used to receiving digital communications from you. A Christmas/New Year email is a great place to start.
Do it now. Like right now!
Don’t wait, get it sent as soon as possible. Soon inboxes will start to get full of Boxing Day sales emails and your message will get lost. The 15-17th December is the prime time for a nice warm email from your brand.
